Phnom Penh: The Minister of Information Khieu Kanharith has advised all groups behind the preparation of the Asia-Europe Meeting or ASEM to secure all technicalities working well as it will be done virtually. He says that each sub-committee must make sure good broadcasting and good quality of audio and video. Cambodia will host the 13th ASEM Summit or ASEM13 which will take place on 25-26 November in Phnom Penh under the theme "Strengthening Multilateralism for Shared Growth".

The ASEM Summit was originally scheduled 16-17 November, however postponed due to Covid-19 crisis. It was later moved to 1-2 March this year but was again postponed for the same reason. Cambodia’s proposed theme reflects the Kingdom’s efforts to promote ASEM as one of the cornerstones of global governance. The announcement says that thematic concept focuses on the interaction of four main ideas: multilateralism, growth, sustainable development and prosperity.

It has added that the summit will reinforce Asia-Europe partnership to ensure that multilateralism can bring about global growth that is not only “sustainable” but can also be “shared” reflecting the key principle that the prosperity of both continents is the ultimate objective of the ASEM Process.
